When the long-awaited sequel Independence Day: Resurgence was released in June 2016, it marked yet another exciting collaboration between WildAge and AOC.

Due to AOC’s position as the official monitor partner for the film, we helped AOC to organise a digital marketing and social media campaign that was specifically catered to the Asia Pacific audience.

The campaign included the launch of the “Independence Day: Resurgence” microsite, as well as a social media contest called “Send a Message to the Aliens”. Participants were required to write a message and take a photo of the message, upload it to the microsite, share their entry on Facebook, then get votes on the microsite. The campaign was a success, with some of the metrics below:

  • The contest submission period was from 23 June to 8 July.
  • 17,913 unique views were recorded on the microsite to date.
  • 901 people participated in the contest and uploaded photos.
  • 14,314 votes were cast during the contest period.

The grand prize winner was determined by the number of votes collected and creativity awarded jointly by AOC and FOX, Jessica Avendano from Australia, won two free tickets to visit the 20th Century Fox Studio Tour in Los Angeles, California, USA. Second place winner Dennis Chan from Malaysia won a brand new AGON QHD Monitor, and third place winner Todd Antony from Australia won a brand new AGON FHD Monitor.
